Rotary and Kiwanis will face one another tonight, Thursday, and if Kiwanis should win, the first half of play could end in a tie. Rotary's first victim of the week was Milne. The Rotar-ians Rotar-ians defeated the Milne crew by a score of 14-4, Larson was the winning pitcher for Rotary Ro-tary and Erickson and Judd Joth saw action on the mound fir Milne, Rollo for Rotary belted a home run in the contest. con-test. Kiwanis, staging their battle bat-tle for the league lead, defeated defeat-ed Carter Brothers 8-5. Corry and Schmutz shared mound duties for Kiwanis and Bishop was on the mound for Carters. Spilsbury-Graff stayed in third place in the league National League LEAGUE STANDINGS JONES 6 0 ELKS 5 1 JAYCEES 4 3 LIONS 2 4 RON'S 1 5 ARCTIC 1 6 Jones Motor brought their record to six wins and no losses this past week and Elks remained one game out of the running in the Cedar City National Little League. Jones Motor's only win of the week was a 13-1 victory over Arctic Circle. Christensen was the winning pitcher for Jones and Orton was on the mound for the Arctic Circle crew. Jaycees picked up a win over Arctic Circle in action this past week by a score of 12-5. Jaycees scored six big runs in the third inning of the contest. Laird was on the mound for the winning Jaycees Jay-cees team and Challis and Orton shared mound duties for Arctic Circle. Elks picked up their only ; win of the week with a win over Jaycees 6-1. Adams was j on the mound for Elks and j Robinson and Laird shared pitching chores for the Jaycee i squad. m Jaycees in their third contest con-test of the week slipped by Lions by a score of 19-18. Jaycees Jay-cees scored 12 runs in the first inning of the high scoring scor-ing game. Robinson and Laird shared pitching chores for Jaycees while Stratton and Morris saw action for Lions. Two home runs were hit in the contest; one by Schaak of Jaycees and one by Stratton of Lions. Arctic Circle picked up their first win of the year downing Ron's Sporting Goods 18-4 Tuesday evening. Orton was the winning pitcher and Ostler and Hiskey were on the mound for Ron's. Orton and Moss both belted home runs for the Arctic team in the contest. standings downing Milne by a score of 4-3. Spilsibury-Graff scored two runs in the last of the sixth and final inning to pick up the victory. Hulet was the winning pitcher for Spilsbury-Graff while Daniels suffered the loss for Milne. Rotary picked up their second sec-ond win of the week with an 11-0 shut-out over Coleman. Rollo pitched a no-hit game for the Rotary crew while Pectol, Smith and Boren all saw action for Coleman. Rotary again proved to be the team to beat as they downed Carter Brothers Monday Mon-day evening 13-5. Smith did the pitching for Rotary and Sillitoe had pitching duties for Carters. Thompson of Rotary Ro-tary belted a bases-loaded home run in the contest. Kiwanis remained one game behind Rotary with a victory over Milne Tuesday evening 13-6. Middleton was on the mound for Kiwanis and Dan- iels did the pitching for Milne. This week's action will end the first half of play for the American League. |
