It is the first stop of the organization's American tour this year. Internationally acclaimed music groups to present concert in Cedar City Aug. 1 1 The internationally acclaimed ac-claimed School Band of America and School Chorus of America will appear in Concert Con-cert in Cedar City Tuesday, Aug. 11, under the sponsorship sponsor-ship of the Southern Utah State College and Cedar High School Music Departments. The concert of this noted group will be held at 7:30 p. m. in the Cedar High School auditorium. Since their founding Julv 1, 1959, the School Band and Chorus of America have established es-tablished themselves as a? integral part of the American Music Education scene as well as establishing them selves as major summer con cert attractions in the Eas4 em United States and throughout Europe. Under the direction of the' founder, Edward T. Han 1BA-SCA have successful complete ten European Cor cert Tours making over 15 appearances in 50 leadin' ?ultural centers of Europe. These organizations wer "ounded primarily for th "Durpose of giving America -music students an opportunity to use their talents in the a ea of international unde-standing unde-standing and at the same time acquire a first-hanr' knowledge of the cultura" centers of Europe. The American tour this year begins with the Cedar City concert. Additional concert? in Utah include Zion Nationa' Park, August 12; two concert? in Salt Lake City and one in Logan. A most notable an pearance will be Aug. 22 when the concert will be held in the Mormon Tabernacle Taber-nacle and for which an audience audi-ence of 8000 is expected. It will be a benefit for the Primary Pri-mary Children's Hospital. Each member of the SBA-SCA SBA-SCA is responsible for financing financ-ing his own expenses for the European and American Concert Con-cert Tours. In many instances the individuals receive assistance assist-ance through various organizations organi-zations and groups who are interested in promoting the talents and additional studies of these top students. |
