Show Family Reunions reach new high during past week end in Parowan Herman D. Bayles group meets here The family of Herman Daggett Dag-gett Bayles, Sr., met in Parowan Paro-wan for their annual family reunion on Saturday, Aug. 1 Members of the family from Cedar City, Beryl, Enterprise and Parowan were host for the get-together with the 12 families of Parowan acting as the general committee under the direction of officers, Adele B. Matheson, president, and Eva B. Guymon, secretary. Ninety were served lunch at Vermilion Castle recreation area at noon and a program under the direction of Mary O Topham followed. This consisted con-sisted of group singing with special numbers by Philip Bayles and Claudia Bayles. The group spent the afternoon after-noon visiting, traveling to scenic areas in the vicinity and touring the Old Rock Church museum. From four to six a genealogical work session was held in the First-Second First-Second Ward cultural hall. Six new family group sheets were available to members this year. At six a business meeting was held at which the group heard reports from the family fam-ily treasurer, Ralph W. Bayles, and Genealogist Mary Bayles Holt. It was decided to hold the 1971 reunion at Kamas, Utah. Officers for the coming year were elected and several other matters of business were taken up at the time. Lindsay Bayles Holt and Hanson Lyman Holt were elected to serve as presidents with Alberta Fairbourn, secretary. secre-tary. A vice president was elected from each reunion area. A roast beef dinner, prepared pre-pared by ladies of the Parowan Paro-wan First Ward Relief Society was served to 118 at 7 p. m. William J. Adams served as MC for the dinner program. Pottery made by A. C. Hatch in "Baylesville" Parowan,, was presented to special guests: to the mother with the largest larg-est No. of children, present, Mrs. Gaylen Bayles, 6; oldest member present, Barbara M. j Adams, 84; Oldest male and female descendants of Herman D. Bayles, sr., Thomas Wendell Wen-dell Bayles, 70, and Edna S. Larson, 4. Youngest member in attendance was Douglas Bruee Bayles, nine weeks old. The program consisted of an accordion solo by Deanna Im-lay, Im-lay, a vocal duet by Brenda and Susan Imlay, a piano solo by Leslie Decker, a vocal duet hv David Ruck and Bavles Holt, and three songs, in German, Ger-man, by Merene Buck, Gaye Passey and Yvonne Holt. Also a vocal duet by Claudia and Phillip Bayles. Under the direction di-rection of Mary O. Topham, with Barbara Batt, accompanist, accompan-ist, the group sang the Bayles Song, composed by Josephine Bayles of Blanding. The reunion was the largest larg-est ever held by the Bayles family in Parowan, and out-! out-! of -town visitors included: f From Ogden the families of I Richard H.
