Show Redmen meet Hurricane Friday in final league game of season Delta 5 1 ' Cedar 5 2 Dixie 4 2 Hurricane 2 4 Millard 1 C Cedar's hopes for a share In the Region Eight Basketball Class AA basketball crown this year will hinge on the ability of the Dixie Flyers to upset the Delta Rabbits for the second time this season. The big game of the week will pit the Rabbits against the Flyers in St. George Friday Fri-day night while the Redmen, licking their wounds from the loss to Delta last week, will be back home attempting to take out their vengence against again-st the Hurricane Tigers. With only two rounds of play remaining the Delta Rabbits Rab-bits are in the drivers seat. They have lost only one game, that to Dixie at Delta and Friday they must go to St. George to meet the Flyers again. ag-ain. Should the Flyers be able to again defeat the Rabbits a three-way tie for the champ-ionship champ-ionship is likely. The Redmen, however, cannot can-not overlook the Tigers Friday night in their final league game of the season. The Red-men Red-men draw the bye 4n the final week of play and will be the first team in the league to complete their schedule in action ac-tion this week. On the other end of the standing the Hurricane Tigers will be looking for a big win over the Redmen in an attempt at-tempt to stay out of the cellar. Millard, currently in last position po-sition draws a bye this week and is scheduled to meet Delta in the final round of play at Delta. Finishing fourth in the Region Re-gion is an automatic berth into in-to the Region round robin. The fifth place finisher must meet Grant Co. High School of Moab for the right to enter the tournament which is scheduled sche-duled n be held at Dixie February Feb-ruary 21, 25 and 26. |
