Show Parowan wins close game from Milford High Tigers A fired up team of Tigers from Milford High School came to Parowan last Friday evening with a determination to take a win over the Parowan Paro-wan Rams. And they came within two points of doing just that, with the winning points for the Rams going through the hoop with just four seconds showing on the clock. The score was 58 to 56 with Rex Orton getting the final basket to put Parowan out ahead by one point, and then converting the foul shot committed com-mitted on the play to give the Rams the two point margin mar-gin of victoiy. If the game would have ended 15 seconds earlier, it would have been a Tiger victory vic-tory by one point, 56 to 55, to indicate just how close the finish was. In fact the lead see-sawed back and forth In this same fashion thoughout the ball game with never more than a point or two advantage advant-age for either team. The quarter scores indicate the advantage at the halftime and third quarter break. Parowan Par-owan led at the end of the first quarter and final one, the most important. In the other game in the Class A division on Friday, the Kanab Cowboys took., the measure of the visiting team from Beaver by a 68 to 55 score. The league leading Kanab Ka-nab took over the lead at the start of the game and held a rather comfortable margin all the way. In a final practice encounter encount-er on Saturday night, the Parowan Par-owan Rams traveled to Alamo, Nev. where they took on the Pahranagat Valley High team and won handily by a 69 to 50 score. In this game Coach Bill Farr had an opportunity to play his entire squad after taking a 15 to 8 edge at the end of the first period. The Rams were ahead 32 to 21 at halftime, and 47 to 34 at the end of the third quarter. Ram scoring was as follows: Adams 17, Burton 17, Orton 12, Chuck Bentley Orton 12, Craig Bentley 7, Dalley 6, Decker 3, Chuck Bentley 4, Hulet 2 and Taylor Tay-lor 1.
