Show Visits to National Park Show Continued Decline Travel to Zion National Park continued to show a decrease according to Superintendent vVurrcn F. Hamilton. July travel tra-vel totaled 11)7,000 visitors, or a loss of 5'f. Travel for the first 7 months of the year now totals 458,200 visitors, or a loss of T, compared to the same period last year. While trawl is down the use of the .'arK's three campgrounds liowed a slight increase, with 1.3,500 campers using the facilities fa-cilities during July. This is almost al-most identical with last year during July. Camping for the year to date shows 107,500 campers for an increase of ; (V'f above 19CG. ! The Park Visitor Center, i Museum, and three camp-! camp-! grounds operated by the National Na-tional Park Service are in full operation. A complete schedule of Park Naturalist activities, consisting of evening programs pro-grams and nature walks, are also available to the public. The Zion Inn, Cafeteria, and cabins and all facilities at Zion Lodge are open for public use. Saddle horses are also available for riding the trails. |
