Show Cedar High School A Cappella Choir Chosen For Clinic The Cedar High School A Cappella, under the direction of Mrs. Shirley C. Roper, has been invited to be the clinic choir for the Utah Music Educators Edu-cators Mid-Winter Institute to be held at BYU. They were selected to represent all the choirs from the state of Utah. The choir will leave for Provo Friday, January 26, and return Saturday, January 27. They will sing for the morning session. ses-sion. The choir will present a short concert for the music educators of the slate. Songs to be included are: "Every Time I Feel de Spirit," by Trusler, "Alleluia," by Zau-meyer, Zau-meyer, and "Sweet Day," by Vaughan Williams. After the concert is given, Dr. Ramsey from USU, who is the guest choral director, will give the choir unfamiliar music mus-ic and teach this new method to the choir for an hour and a half. The music educators will observe his techniques in oresenting new music to students. stu-dents. The Mid-Winter Institute Insti-tute is held each year to help music teachers prepare for the Spring Music Festival. Cedar High School feels this will be a very valuable learning learn-ing experience for the A Cappella Choir, and the choir! wishes to thank the Iron Coun-1 ty School Board for paying for j their trip.
