They rise only when workers produce more per hour and per year of work." In the same year, a resolution of the Executive Council Coun-cil of the AFL said: "We have learned the lesson that when opportunities of profit diminish, opportunities for Jobs likewise' disappear." Some labor leaders and groups seem to have forgotten these truisms. It is time they remembered. Increased wag-, wag-, es .without Increased production result in price inflation which often destroys the alleged gains. Profitless Industry means stagnant, retrogressive Industry and ultimately, depiv&&luulunemployment, and wide-spread misery. . .. |
