Show Summer Activities Include Social Dance Activities in the recreation department de-partment of Cedar City is slated to move into full swing this next week and a number of additional and special programs are on tap, Ken Benson, director announces. One of the biggest additions to the summer program, he indicated, indi-cated, is the beginning of a special spe-cial Social Dancing program for adults only. This event will begin be-gin on Wednesday, June 12 at Monday and Wednesday evening 8 p. m. and will be held every Monday and Wednesday evening even-ing thereafter. The dancing will be held In the North Elementary gymnasium. gymna-sium. A feature of the program will be a special instruction in such dances as the fox trot, waltz, jitter-bug, rhumba, samba, tango, tan-go, cha cha, polka and any other type dancing that those in attendance at-tendance are interested in learning. learn-ing. According to Benson, this is a course where it will begin with fundamentals and progress Into dance parties with several adult only dances to coincide with the program. Everyone interested Is invited to attend. Also slated to start next week is the 10-week course on Oil Painting to be given by Glen Anderson. First class will be Wednesday, June 12 and it will continue through August 21. A field trip is planned and the course will be at the Junior High School. Boy 8 through 12 years of age interested in participating in the minor league baseball program are advised that the first call has been made forTuesday, June 11 at 10 a. m. at the ball park. Games will be played throughout through-out the summer on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday No games will be held on Wednesday Wed-nesday eliminating a conflict with primary organizations, Benson Ben-son stated. |
