Show NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER FOR SALE Sealed bids will be received by the Forest Supervisor, or his authorized au-thorized representative, in the office of the Forest Supervisor, Cedar City, Utah, up to and not later than 10 a. m., July 8, 1963, for all live and recently dead (sound sap wood) timber marked or designated for cutting on an area of approximately 9265 acres In the Colorado River Drainage, T29S, R3E; T29S, R4E; T30 S, R3E; T30S, R4E; T31S, R3E, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, Dixie NaUonal Forest, estimated to contain live and recently dead (sound sa p wood) sawtlmber as follows: 530 M bd. ft of pondero-sa pondero-sa pine, 3980 M bd. ft of Douglas Doug-las fir, and 490 M bd. ft of Engel-mann Engel-mann spruce, more or less. In addition, there is within the sale area an unestimated volume of merchantable older dead (unsound (un-sound sap wood) sawtlmber of all species which will be paid for at 1.00 per M bd. ft The minimum acceptable bid per M bd. ft for live and recently recent-ly dead (sound sap wood) timber is: For ponderosa pine logs $4.20 which Includes a base rate of $3.00 for stumpage and $1.20 for slash disposal; for Douglas fir logs, $3.20, which includes a base rate of $2.00 for stumpage and $120 for slash disposal; for En -gelmann spruce logs $320, which includes a base rate of $2.00 for stumpage and $1.20 for slash disposal. dis-posal. The prices bid for stumpage for live and recently dead (sound sapwood) timber shall be considered con-sidered as tentative rates subject to quarterly calendar adjustment upward or downward by 0.5 of the difference between the average aver-age of the selling price Indices, as calculated by the Forest Service Serv-ice at the end of each calendar quarter, and the following base Indices: Ponderosa pine $82.75 Douglas fire $65.96 Engelmann spruce $72.13 The adjusted rates, determined as described above by application of tentative rates, base Indices, and quarterly average indices, shall be reduced by the amout of the following road amortization amortiza-tion rate deficits to arrive at adjusted rates for the quarterly period: ronrierosa pine $1.55 per M. bd. ft. Douglas fir $1.55 per M bd. ft Engelmann spruce $1.55 per M bd. ft. In no event however, shall the payment rates for each quarter be less than the base rates as stated above. When the adjusted rates for species are lower than the base rates, the difference between the total dollar value of timber cut at adjusted rates and at base rates will be recorded for each species. The stumpaRe rate for any species will not be increased above the base rate until the subsequent adjusted rates above base rates for all species develop an accumultcd total dollar value in excess of the total recorded accumulated differenre for all species. A certified check, cashier's check, bank draft or money order, or-der, payable to the Forest Service, Serv-ice, USDA, in the amount of $900.00 must accompany each bid to be applied on the purchase price, refunded or retained In whole or In part as actual or liquidated damages according to the provisions of the bid. The right to reject any and all bids Is reserved.
