G. William.s at the Jordan Jor-dan Narrows for the annual two-week two-week summer encampment. , Under the command of Lt. Col. Max S. Dalley, Parowan, units from Cedar City, St. George, Fillmore, Fill-more, Beaver and Richfield will partl-ipate In a series of activities activi-ties including tests on a battalion battal-ion and battery level with the eight-Inch, self-propelled howlt- zers. Headquarters and Headquarters Headquar-ters battery of the organization is located in Cedar City and train at the armory on 100 East Street throughout the year. Included In the unit are ten officer, including includ-ing the battalion staff, and 53 enlisted en-listed men. Battery is under the command of Lt. James M. Miller. In addition a detachment of Battery C of Fillmore also trains In Cedar City under the command of Lt. Van L. Bushnell. The detachment de-tachment consists of Lt Bushnell and 34 enlisted men. Service battery, located at Beaver, Bea-ver, Includes five officers and 5j enlisted men. Firing batteries. Include Battery A at Richfield with three officers and 57 men; Battery B. St. George, three officers of-ficers and 68 men, and Battery C, Fillmore, two officers and 32 men. The Units will convoy to Camp Williams . Sunday and Monday will leave for the field for four days at which time they will undergo un-dergo a series of tests and conduct con-duct actual fire missions with the eight Inch howitzers.' The unit will return from the field Friday noon to participate In a camp-wide parade and inspection in-spection Friday afternoon. During the second week of training the units will go Into the field daily for additional training but will return each evening eve-ning to Camp Williams. Convoy to return home is scheduled to embark Sunday, June 23 to return to the various communities, Lt Col. Dalley stated. |
