Up to and Including the big storm of the week end of November 3 a total of ?5.72 Inches of moisture had been measured since Jan. 1, 1957, Mr Rasmussen's records show. This compares to the 8.07 Inches recorded at the Parown station during the entire year of 1956. The moisture fall for 1P56 was about three inches below normal, and the 1957 fall was almost al-most four Inches above normal with the seven weeks still to go and stormy weather predicted for the future. Total prescipitation for October Octob-er measured here was 2.39 Inches with 1.60 of it coming up to the opening of deer season and .79 of an inch the following week end. November moisture recorded so far came in one big storm a week ago when 1.33 inches fell In one big deluge, partly rain and partly snow. This storm left several inches of snow on the ground and wr.r equal to 18 inches of snow, Mr. Rasmusw3n said. This storm caused considerable damage to city power linos, when overburdened tree limbs In a number of sections of the' city broke off and fell on po.vcr lines. Power was disrupted for several hours until city employees em-ployees and help from Cedar City restored the service. Some late fall work has been held up by the storm and probably will remain undone this fall unless dry weather comes. |
