Show Biederman's Take Lead in r Softball League After six games in the wo men's Softball league only two teams, Biederman's Hereford Ranch and Peoples Market re main undefeated. League play began Thursday, June 5, after the . originally scheduled opening open-ing night was rained out Three games were played on June 5 with El" Rey Cafe bowing bow-ing to Endsley's 9 to 17 in the opening game. Milt's Circus Lounge won the second game over Hunter Hardware, 31 Ito 6 in a free hitting affair. The third game of the opening night pitted pit-ted Thornton Drug against Endsley's. End-sley's. Thornton's won 22 to 15. The game bewteen El Rey cafe and Endsleys was a make-up game. Friday evening, June 6, saw Biederman's Ranch take the measure of Milt's 17 to 2. The women play only one game on Friday evenings. Two games were played Tuesday Tues-day evening, June 10, in the regular league play. In the opener open-er at 7:15 p. m. Peoples Market handed El Rey its second defeat by a score of 22 to 4. In the second sec-ond game, the closest so far in the league, Biederman Ranch managed to outpoint Thornton Drug in a high scoring game, 26 to 24. The Women's league is playing under the same rules as the Men's association this year, including in-cluding seven inning games. Games are played Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening. Two games are played each nighit with the exception of Friday Fri-day when only one game is played in connection with the men's league.
