Show Abbott Home Burglary Investigated By Sheriff, Deputies Iron County Sheriff Arthur Nelson Nel-son and his deputies were still investigating the burglary of the residence of Tommy Abbott, two miles north of Paragonah, on Highway 91, on Wednesday of this week, Mr. Nelson reported. This was the second such break-in break-in to isolated residence in Northern North-ern Arizona and southern Utah in the past several days. The Abbott home was burglarized burglar-ized Sunday afternoon while the family was in town attending church. Entry was made by breaking the glass out of a rear door. It appeared that a truck or car had been driven up to the door and loaded with articles from various rooms of the house. Missing when the Abbots returned re-turned home were two suitcases, $13 or $14 in cash, a 20-gauge shotgun, a 30-40 calibre rifle, two cameras, a 35 mm and a 620 size Brownie. The Abbotts report that the house was ransacked with articles of clothing, etc, scattered scatter-ed all through the house, with even Mrs. Abbott's cedar chest broken open and ransacked. Sheriff Nelson and Deputy Charles Wells investigated, and reported that the pattern of the burglary was similar to one reported re-ported at the Lee Esplin ranch on the Arizo a Strip recently. |
