Show Sulfas Cause Egg Slump but The American Veterinary ivled-ical ivled-ical association warns poultrymen against reaching for the sulfa bottle bot-tle too frequently. In a recent experiment, the production pro-duction of 671 birds given sulfa for periods of from three to six days dropped 50 per cent; and. compared with a control group of 430, it took the sulfa-treated hens a month to reach a rate of production produc-tion equaling that of the untreated hens. The association points out, however, how-ever, that this argument is not against the use of sulfa drugs when needed, but rather a note Df warning against their overuse. |
