Show Legion Auxiliary Sells $8,000 In Bonds And Stamps The members of the American Legion Auxiliary enjoyed an excellent excel-lent meeting Monday night, at whU'h entertainment and business was featured. fea-tured. Mrs. RuseKa Happy, Rehabilitation Rehabilita-tion Chairman, gave several readings read-ings followed by a Victory program presented by Mrs. Beth Leigh and a group of her music students. The program included community singing sing-ing also. The purpose of the Victory Vic-tory program was to stimulate the sale of bonds. Mrs. Elizabeth B'.aes, a special guest of the unit, gave a very Inspirational In-spirational reading pertaining to the Pearl Harbor anniversary, and Mrs. Jennie Winterrose, chairman of thv War Activities committee, reported that Christmas cards from the Legion Le-gion and Auxiliary organizations had been sent to all Cedar City boys in the service. The members voted to send ash trays to the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City as a Christmas gift. They also approved u contribution to Hoys Town in Nebraska. Matilda Whit, unit National Defense De-fense Chairman, reported the sale of approximately $8,000 worth of Bonds and Stamps since Hip week of November 11th. In addition the sale of Flag Pins has brought the organization organ-ization $12.00 to be used to defray the cast of mailing cards to service men. The Legionaires were guests of the Auxiliary at the program, after which a social was held and refreshments refresh-ments were served. At the meeting Post Commander Alfred Olson purchased pur-chased $500 worth of bonds from tha Defense Chairman for the Cedar Post of the American Legion. |
