Show Iron County To Receive Scrap Salvage Banner II I I Iron County citizens who helped raise the County's scrap metal contribution con-tribution to over ., 100 pounds per person, will be honored next Friday, December 18, when a pennant from the War ProductJon Board will be presented to the local salvage committee. com-mittee. Slate officlcals will be In Cedar City to make the presentation, which will be at the City Park, providing weather permits. Plans for the presentation pre-sentation ceremony, call for a parade pa-rade through the business section of town, beginning at 4 p. m. The Utah State Guard and the American Ameri-can Legion will be asked to participate partici-pate in the parade along with school units. The parade will end at the City Park where the presentation ceremony will take place. Mayor H. H. Lunt will be one of the speakers, and a representative of the local salvage committee will receive the pennant on behalf of the people who donated the scrap during the drive. Music will be furnished furn-ished by the school bands. In case bad weather does not permit per-mit the ceremony to be held at the City Park, a suitable place will be announced through the newspapers and over the radio. Alfred Olson is chairman of the Presentation Program, according to Mrs. Parson U. Webster, chairman chair-man of the Women's Division of the County committee. Assisting Mr. Olsen are Lorln Miles, Elwood Corry and Mark Webster. Much of the credit for the success suc-cess of the County Drive is due John Hamilton, former chairman, who found lt necessary to resign because of employment in Las Vegas; and to Frank Seaman, both of whom gave much service in making the drive successful. |
