Show First Ward Pians Easter Cantata The regular annual Easter Cantata Can-tata to be presented by the First Ward Choir on the Evening of Easter Sunday at 8:00 o'clock, ls progressing very satisfactorl'y with rehearsals twice a week. The Choir, under the direction of Ward Chorister E. B. Dalley, will present "The Resurrection Song", by Roy E. Nolte. The variety var-iety of offerings in this number, consisting of choruses, duets, trios, and solos for both men's and women's wo-men's voices make a program especially Interesting and attractive. attrac-tive. There will be thirteen musical numbers and the libretto will be read as usual as the Cantata progresses. pro-gresses. , The following have been chosen as soloists: Soprano, Lois M. Mc-Conncll Mc-Conncll and Mrs. J. E. Warren; Altos, Bee Roberts and Mamie Eck; Tenors. Howard Stokes and Ray Cosslett; Baritones. F. B. Wood. Parson Webster, and Walter lunt. Arthur Fret well will be at the piano "and Audrey Dotsoji at the consol of The organ. It was the Ward's original Intention Inten-tion to present the contata at sunrise sun-rise as usual, but due to conflict with the Fifth Ward in the time of presentation, it was changed to Sunday evening. This, at the moment mo-ment seems quite consLstnt, since the Fifth Ward offering ls "The Cm-smcllon' and the First Ward's Is "The Resurrection." It ls felt that the various Ward md Church luthorlties throughout the Stake who have not prepared special programs for Easter could not celebrate this Important occasion oc-casion more appropriately than to arrange their plans to take advantage ad-vantage of these offerings, to say nothing of the encouragement that will be afforded the choirs and their directors. It will be a religious and muscal feast and free to all who attend. |
