Leland Dalley, County FSA Supervisor, said his office will continue con-tinue to make new loans pending establishment of the Farmers' Home Administration, a new agency created by Congress to take over the functions of FSA and the Emergency Em-ergency Crop and Feed Loan Division Divi-sion of the Farm Credit Administration, Administra-tion, j "Congress gave the Secretary of Agriculture 90 days to transfer the functions of FSA and the crop and feed loan program to the new Farmers' Farm-ers' Home admonostration," Dalley said. "When the transfer is complete, com-plete, FSA will cease to exist. However, How-ever, its work will be carried on by the new agency in much the same manner ats at present.' Dalley said the Farmers' Home Act continues the work of FSA under un-der a new name and for the first time gives it permanent status In law. FSA was authorized by Executive Execu-tive Orders rather than by Act of Congress. In addition to carrying on the supervised credit pogram of FSA and the crop and feed loan program the new agency is authorized to provide government insurance ol loans to farmers, and perference Is created for loans to enable veterans to acquire farms. Dllliard B. Lassete,who has been administrator of FSA, was recently appointed Administrator of the new Farmers' Home Administration. |
