Show Time For A Change Senior students of the high schools of Utah who make good on the football foot-ball fields this fall will be given special recognition for their efforts by receiving invitations to participate partici-pate in a state All-Star game at a coachng school In Salt Lake City next year. But. of course, Cedar City high school students will not be eligible for this recognition unless un-less eleven man football Is started at the school. Tills Is just another reason added o many, why the local school shoull drop the six-man game and turn to eleven-man football. Eleven-nif.n football woukl give many more students a chance to participate. It would bring much more recognition to the school and its students, It would give the school a chance for state-wide competition for state honors, and would give our students a better chance for college participation after they have have completed their high school work. There are twelve schools In region six, about half of them large enough to play eleven-man football. Two leagues should be formed, an eleven-man eleven-man league Including Cedar City. Delta, Fillmore, Dixie, Hurricane and perhaps Beaver, and a six-man league Including Hinckley, Milford, j Parowan. Enterprise, Kanab and jordervllle. It would be a boon to I the smaller schools as well as the I larger ones. Lets get Cedar City Into the eleven-man eleven-man class and give our athletes a chance for state recognition In the great Fall sport. |
