The Cedar City Auxiliary sponsored sponsor-ed the contest In the Cedar City Junior High School, the topic this year tcinj, "Pioneer Patterns for the World of Tomorew." Nearly 100 eighth-graders participated par-ticipated In the contest during the past month under the leadership of the English and History teachers. ' le ninth grade recently finished a contest sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce and the I seventh grade Is nearing comple-' comple-' tlon of writing atrlotlc essays on 'Loyal Americans," sponsored by the Cedar Post of the American Legion. The Junior High teachers and students have felt that much has been gained from the cooperation of these community organizations In such projects, during war times ! eswclallv. and sincerely appreciate j the opportunities that have been ' given the students. Donna Mae Wright took second place In the annual American Legion Leg-ion oratory contest held last Saturday Satur-day in Parowan.
