Show Orange A. Olsen Memorial Released "Elk Below" Is the title or a new book containing the writings of Orange A. Olsen, who was killed In a plane crash March 2, 1945 while counting elk in Greys River, Wyoming. Wy-oming. Sponsored by his ho-t of friends from all walks of life, the book is a crass section of Orange's writings and photography, both of which had gained him national recognition recogni-tion as an outstanding exponent of lnt "mountain wildlife. Orange began h!s public career a" a F&Ye.st Ranger on the Mammoth Mam-moth District of the Mantl National Na-tional Forest and had been in charge of Wildlife Management in Region Four of the Forest Service for fourteen years prior to his untimely un-timely death. He pioneered forest service wildlife work in this region and was probably most widely known for devising and develop- j lng the annual count of inter-' mountain elk by airplane.
