Show TRIBUTE PAID TO I THE mil DIVISION I General Leitch Speaks in Warm Terms flfl flf the Officers and Men Composing HJ This Camp Lewis Organization. H The Bugle, a weekly newspaper flfl published at ('amp Lewis, in its issue HH of Janunry 31, had an article anent KB the 13th Division and the high trib- flfl ! ute paid it nnd the men by General HJ I Leitch. As Iron county had a num- flfl her of men in the division, including flH Morton Thorley, Irwin Buer and HJ Klias Ijeigh, the article will doubtless HJ be of interest to our readers. It is as flj follows: flj "The record of the Will division is fl paid a high tribute by Major General HI Joseph I). Leitch in General orders HI No. 1, issued from divisional head- H quarters on Januury 23 over the gen- HI eral's signature. The order was is- HI sued subsequent to the order calling H for the complete demobolization of H the division. Demobolization is now H in progress. H "Kxpressing his appreciation of the H work done and his pride in the high H morale and clean record maintained at H all times by the division, (Jen. Leitch's H order reads as follows: H "General orders: No. 1. H "1. As the division is about to be H demobolized and the members there- B of, officers und soldiers, will no longer B be under any command, I take this HJ occasion to extend to all my appre- H ciation of the work done in making BJ the division what it is as shown by HJ its progress in training, its high mor- BJ ale und its clean record. BJ "The division has been a source of BJ the greatest pride nnd gratification to BJ all its members. The high morale, BJ splepdid spirit and unfailing loyal ex- BJ edition of orders and cheerful, wil- H ling co-operation in a training sched- BJ I ule which, due to limited time, was flj j a severe and trying one, has merited M the highest praise. M J ''The result of This high spirit has M been shown in the reports of all in- BJ spectors who huve visited the camp. M "The final proof of the discipline B and loyalty of the command has been BJ the splendid patience and excellent BJ conduct of all since the signing of the BJ armistice and the end of the expecta- flj tion of active service. BJ It has been a keen disappointment BJ that the division did not have the op- BJ portunity to demonstrate its efficiency on the field of buttle, but you huve won BJ the right to say you were ready. BJ "I extend to ull my best wishes for H I your future success and hope it muy BJ ' he ns I'retit ns it hns been in the muk- BJ ing of the 13th division. M "Signed, J. 1).
