Show THE RECORD has heard a good deal of complaint com-plaint recently about the prevalence of animals upon the streets and the laxity in the enforcement enforce-ment of the laws generally in Cedar City. People Peo-ple are wondering why a pool table is permitted to operate in tho basement of the Cedars Hotel, when the council has decided that no license will be granted. For our part, we see no particular harm in a well-conducted pool room, if it is approved by the city government. But either the council ought to grant the license or maintain the dignity of the law by seeing that it is not operated in conflict with the law. One trouble seems to be that the city marshal has too many other duties and hasn't the time to properly care for the duties of his office. During his absences from town the work is intrusted to a deputy, who also is engr ss-ed ss-ed with other work. We believe that Cedar City is, entitled to practically all of onejman's time in ofder'to properlyVcnforco-tho.laws of the city1 and maintain the dlg-fiity of the lawi j J, im |
