Show ANOTHER ELECTRIC PLANT AT PAROWAN jK I According to all indications Faro- ( K 1 wan will soon install another electric B I system which will, for a time at least , H 1' meet the growing needs of our valley. H i For some time some of the bigger B; valley farmers have been trying to J(; get from the city ofllcials, assurance i I that the citiy would furnish them with sufllcient electricity to run their pump wells during the coming season. The city council havo had this matter under consideration and were taking steps to be in a position to do this, but it became evident a short time ago that owing to the routino which would be necessary for the city to go through before issuing bonds to procure money to enlarge tho pres- ent plant, or install a larger one, and t other necessary delays, it would be al most impossible to get ready to furnish fur-nish the electricity in time for the use of farmers by the coming spring. F j Should the city not accomplish this It I would necessitate the farmers instal- I ling gasoline engines to do the work ,' which would later havo to bo taken (, out thus causing great expense. Un der these circumstances it has been ' thought best to organize a company and have citizens subscribe for the stock In the same. Tho money for ,, tho erection of this new plant, will be hired and, as soon as the city gets In a position, or Is ready to receive the plant, It will be turned over to i 4 Citizens are subscribing for stock K in amounts running from $250.00 to ft $5000.00, and everything points to If the success of the new enterprise. The 1 1 services of an electric expert have I? been secured, and he has gone over iff the grounds of the proposed site, and I also through the valley and gives his WFk, opinion that no mistake can be made Iff" by the citizens in making this new Hill, -i move for the benefit of the city, nnd the valley at large. |
