This year tho Kanarra coal mino has supplied all the demands mndo on it for coal, and we still havo a few loads on hand. It was reported tonight by telephone thnt New Harmony has scarletinn, the case being nt tho homo of L. A. Pace. At any rato he has a daughter daugh-ter attending the academy at Saint Georgo who is sick with tho same malady which Dr. McGregor pronounces pro-nounces scarlctina. Married. Daniel Webster, formerly former-ly of Loa, but now of this place, and Hulda Pollock, last week at Parowan. A nice dinner was given in their honor hon-or by sisters of tho groom and bride nt the homo of Jesse F. Williams. A dance, which is in progress here tonight, to-night, concludes the festivities. T At the election held last November J. W. Williams was elected justice of tho peace and Hyrum C. Ford constable. consta-ble. Tho justice elect failed to qualify qual-ify as ho did not want the office, and the previous incumbent, W. C. Reeves, holdB over. Tho constable elect qualified qual-ified and is now installed in office. F. M. Perkins of Ionn, Idaho, spent tho holidays in Knnnrra, returning to his home last Sunday, expecting to take the Knell auto, but for some reason rea-son missed the connection nnd was obliged to obtain a private car to Lund or forfeit his ticket on tho train. Dr. Leonard took him out in his new Stu-debaker Stu-debaker roadster. Last Saturday morning, with but one or two exceptions, all the buggies In town were found drawn up in front of the meeting houso. One man prevented pre-vented his from joining tho procos-sion procos-sion by the uao of a gun, which ho fired off a timo or two to frighten tho mischief-workers. The wholo affair was intended ns a joke and was treated treat-ed as such. |
