Show MAYOR ANNOUNCES CITY APPOINMfffS Municipal Machinery Now Fully Organized and Ready for Efficient Service. After adjourning From Friday to Saturday night, nnd then from Saturday Sat-urday to Monday night in order to obtain a list of appointees for city offices of-fices which would meet the approval of all tho members of tho city council, Mayor Swapp finally presented the list for approval. They are: City Marshall, Arthur Nelson. City Watermaster, Samuel T. Leigh. Attorney, Edmond H. Ryan. Justice of the Peace, John S. Woodbury. Wood-bury. Sexton, O. P. W. Bergstrom. Poundkeeper, Thomas Dix. Health Officer, J. W. Bergstrom. Member of Health Board, Frank B. Wood. Surveyor, Maescr Dalley. Engineer, R. S. Gardner. Building Inspector. R. S. Gardner. Tho appointments were approved by the Council, samo to take effect from upon their qualifying, but not prior to Saturday, February 14th. Thoso present nnd voting on tho appointments ap-pointments were Macfarlanc, Pace, Jones and Fuller. An ordinance raising the salaries of certain city officers was read and passed, to take effect upon its publication publi-cation in The Record. (It will bo found elsewhere in this issue.) Committee on public grounds and city property reported that they had commenced work on the project for a city playground. It is propo'sed to purchase the old Tithing property on the cast $ido of lower tyahj 8treet, tho back Webster lot intervening between this property and the present city park, using the enst part for a playground play-ground and the west portion next to Main street for a tourist camping ground. It was decided to purcliaso tablo and chairs for tho auditorium, and to make nil culvorts on Mhfn street tho full width of tho street. The matter of raising funds for tho purchase and installation of tho new lighting system wns referred to the committee on finance. |
