Show WORLD'S GREATEST PRODUCER The United States is the most productive pro-ductive country on earth. It lends all the rest of the globe in yields f V'o mine, the soil, and the Tar.tory. This fact was tersely and cogently sot forth by Judge Elbert H. Gary, chairman chair-man of the Board of the United States Steel Corporation, in an address which he made before the American Iron and Steel Institute, Judge Gnry said: "Notwithstanding the United States has only G per cent of the world's population, pop-ulation, and but 1 per cent of the world's land, we produce: "20 per cent of the world's supply of gold. "25 per pent of the world's supply of wheat. "40 per cent of the world's supply of iron and steel. "40 per cent of the world's supply of lead. "40 per cent of the world's supply of silver. "50 per cent of the world's supply of zinc. "52 per cent of the world's supply of coal. "GO per cent of the world's supply of nluminum. "GO per cent of the world's supply of copper. "GO per cent of the world's supply of cotton. "GO per cent of the world's supply of oil. "75 per cent of the world's supply of corn. "85 per cent of tho world's supply of automobiles." In face of a marvelous showing like that, who can for n moment doubt tho future prosperity of this country? |
