She was j,lx when her father was killed defending Verdun from thp boche. Denlse once was the adopted daughter of the American civilian employees em-ployees of the Central Printing plant, at 17 Hue de l'Aqueduc, Paris. Now the Americans have gone home and Denlse and her Invalid mother, her little lit-tle brother and aged grandmother find It very hard to innke ends meet. Many posts of the American Legion already have followed the suggestion of national headquarters und have contributed con-tributed 5"5 to care of a French orphan or-phan for a year.
