The singing, under the direction of Mrs. Thomas, was excellent. The solos were a delight, showing that tho singers sing-ers had been carefully chosen and well trained. At least, Cedar cannot be said to be lacking in musical talent among her school children. The dnncing of the snowflakes. fairies and clowns, under the direction of Miss Buys, received hearty ap plause and each group was forced by the delighted spectators to repeat its dance. Through the thorough stage direction direc-tion of Principal Fenton, the young people showed remarkable ease on tho stage as well as a surprising freedom and naturalness inn their acting. There was a good attendance, but not nnywhero near what such a really unusual and pleasing entertainment deserves. It is to be hoped those who missed this program will not be caught napping when tho next school affair is offered. With tho beautiful new auditorium now ready, it will bo possible for tho school to do much more along theso lines. Tho proceeds from tho cantata are to be used to help buy n piano for tho now auditorium, audi-torium, 11, is to be hoped that the teachers will not feel discouraged at the le-latively le-latively small attendance and will give' us more of just such delightful school entertainments. |
