Mr. Perge went to the district by way of Ketchum. Mr. Derge says there are not more J than 1.000 persons in Thunder moun tain camp, but probably as large a ! number of prospectors and owners are scattered over the district. The formation forma-tion is a low-grade porphyry, with occasional oc-casional rich streaks. Mr. Derge declares de-clares fewer persons are going into the country now than a few weeks ago, and as a consequence the outfitting companies com-panies are not doing the volume of ' business they did in the first days of . the rush. He says the camp will prob- ! ably be in better shape a year from now than it is today. When his party went into the district they paid $25 rach for pack animals. Coming out they could realize $7.50 each on them. Superintendent John Kirby of the Daly-West, who tendered his resigna-' resigna-' tion to the directors, has, it is under stood, agreed to withdraw it and take a vacation instead. The band concert at Fort Douglas Sunday afternoon was enjoyed by a large crowd from town. Every car to f the post was packed, and it is estimat- ' ed that several thousand persons heard the band. The music is improving, as the band has had more time to recruit new layers and work together. The programmes are a fine combination of ' popular music and light overtures.
