The entire papal court and boards of mem-P mem-P bers of all the Catholic societies rep- resented in Rome assembled at 6 I o'clock this evening in the great Bel-vider Bel-vider court of the Vatican and paid homage to his holiness. The co.urt was beautifully adorned I "with tapestries and a profusion of I plants and flowers. The pope occupied I i an especially constructed .and richly I decorated gallery. His holiness en- I . tcred the court by way of the lapidary j museum and the library. He was j I greeted Avith enthusiastic acclamation iind the band played the pontifical march. A chorus, composed for the oc- I asion. was sung by a choir of several j hundred pupils from all the clerical schools in Rome, who filed before the pope canying banners. The Vatican j omciais, a number of ladies and the 1 members of the diplomatic corps witnessed wit-nessed the scene from windows over- looking the court.' ' The fete was brought to a close by the pope pronouncing a pontifical bless- I ing, after which he was again ac- I claimed.
