Show Diocese of Helena, BUTTE. M. J. Sheehan and wife are in town from Anaconda. Mrs. M. M. Miller, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. S. C. Backiston, left on Wednesday's train for a month's visit to Salt Lake and Ogden. Mr. Julius H. Heilbronner, manager of the Western Mining World, left yesterday yes-terday to make a general tour of Montana. Mon-tana. Mr. Heilbronner is securing data and material for the souvenir number of the Mining World, which will be devoted de-voted to the mining interests of Mor. tana in general and the International Mining congress, to be held here in September, Sep-tember, in particular. Mr. Benjamin Wrilson and Mr. J. Mahoney Ma-honey have returned from an outing and hunting trip on their country5 place near Pony. J. P. Murray and wife are in the city from Dillon. Clarence A. Smith, secretary of the American Labor union, and Miss Bessie Hughe3 were united in marriage Thursday Thurs-day evening at 8 o'clock. The ceremony took , place at the home of the bride's parents, 647 Utah avenue, Rev. Father Quesnel officiating. The funeral otMrs. Rosina Bonetty took place Monday, July 7, at 9:30 a. m., from Sherman' & Reed's undertaking parlors, proceeding to St. Patrick's Church,- where high mass was celebrated. celebrat-ed. .V Senator W. A. Chirk returned home, accompanied by his private secretary, Adam Underwood. Senator Clark is looking in the best of health and is glad to get home again to shake hands with his many Butte friends. The senator has been a very busy man since he has been in Washington and has accomplished accom-plished a great deal for Montana. It was a pretty, though a very quiet wedding, that took place on Wednesday Wednes-day evening, June 25, at the Sacred Heart church. Miss Blanche Bayley, prettily attired in a bridal gown of white, became the bride of Mr. Mark Sullivan, according to the impressive rites of the Catholic church, Rev. Father Callahan officiating. Miss Nellie Sullivan acted- as bridesmaid, brides-maid, and Mr. Arthur Markle as best man. Under the skilled fingers of Miss I May Sullivan the strains of the Lo- j jicugun weaamg marcn pealed forth as the bridal party moved down the aisle to the alatar, and the wedding was very impressive. . .'Both the young people are very popular, pop-ular, and the felicitations of a host of friends follow them in their new life. Miss Lillie WhelarTof Anaconda was in Butte visiting friends on the Fourth. A quiet wedding was that of Mr. Joseph Jo-seph R. Jackson of New York and Miss Josephine Kelley of Butte, which took place during the past week at St. Patrick's Pat-rick's church. Only members of the family and a few intimate friends were present Mr. and Mrs. Jaockson left for New York, where they will spend tneir honeymoon. Upon their return they will be at home at No. 321 North Alabama street. Phil Sullivan of Anaconda spent the Fourth in Butte. HELENA. Mrs. William Wallace left last week for Chicago, where she will visit relatives, rela-tives, Mr. J. M. Morlarity returned to the city, after a visit of three weeks on the coast. Mr. George F. Casey visited friends in the city during the week. The marriage of Miss Carolyn Ben-inghoff Ben-inghoff of Billings, Mont., and Mr. William J. Cruse of Helena took place at Billings. Miss Beninghoff's home. Rev. Father Van Clarenbeck performed the marriage ceremony at St. Joa- j chime's church. After the wedding j breakfast Mr. and Mr. Cruse left for an eastern trip of several weeks, after which they will return to make their j home in Helena. ANACONDA. Mrs. Marcus Daly, her son, Marcus her daughters, Miss Hattie. Mrs. Gi-rard Gi-rard and Mrs. Brown, Miss Lillian Shields, Miss Busby of Butte and Howard How-ard Miller have gone to Bitter Root. : j James J. Donahue, a machinist formerly for-merly employed at the foundry, has re- I turned to this city, after an absence of one and one-half years, the greater part of which time he was in Chicago. 1 The church services over the remains of the late John Hallahan were held at St. Paul's church July 1. Mr. Hallahan was a highly respected citizen of Anaconda Ana-conda and a veteran of two wars.. Rev. Father Coopman officiated, and requiem high mass was held. The Spanish-American Spanish-American guard of honor took the caisson with the casket to the church, . and returned It to the city hall afterwards, after-wards, where it remained In state until un-til the time for the afternoon services ' and burial.' The funeral was one of the largest eyer' attended in Anaconda. F. X. Moroney of Butte is visiting friends and relatives in the city. Miss May Dougherty of Corvallis is visiting friends in this city. Mrs. R. R. Kilroy of Butte visited relatives In the city during the week. Mrs. W. T. O'Connell, sister of the late Captain Hallahan, arrived in the city from Republic, Wash, and re- ' mained until after the latter's funeral, j |
