Show I Vessel's Escape Off Cork. It was noticed on Friday night that ' a large ship was in trouble off the coast near Myross. and was drifting towards the rocks. Two yawls with crews of ' Myross fishermen put off with a view i to assisting the disabled vessel, which ' proved to be the Italian barque Pros-pere. Pros-pere. Captain Danide, bound to Genoa from Fowey, having on board a valuable valu-able cargo. When the fishermen ar-: ar-: rived the vessel was but a few cables' ' length from-the rck.-;They told. Uie captain that he was in imminent dan-ger, dan-ger, and that the ship would probably , be wrecked. Hs asked the fishermen to I come, on board, but they could not do so owing to the boisterous seas. The j captain then got a tackle from one of the yards and hoisted two of the men ' on board under very dangerous circumstances, cir-cumstances, they being submerged in the sea several times. After getting on board thev succeeded in rlaclng the ship in safety at the entrance to Glan-dore Glan-dore harbor. In the meantime one of the vawls had hastened to Bere for a tugboat, which arrived in time to ; tow the ship to Qweenstown. |
