As dawns the Feast that should all soiils uplirt. Can any fail to bear at least one gift? i What thoughts .today o'crtlow Thy Human Hu-man Henri Doth base ingratitude- its vcnoift dart? Doth coldness pain Thy -yearning love, in those Whom graciously -Thy tender mercy choose? What stony hearts are ours, that scarce a trace - Revels the hourly dew of hallowing graco Thy Sacred Heart outpours! Does passion's pas-sion's heat Consume with licry breath the blessing sweet? WouH we had pow'r lo offer on this Feast The burning zeal 'of -souls from earth released;- " '".-. : ' Would we could turn some stranser hearts to Tliee, Or e'en our own from self-love fully free. My God! my God! give grace to those who seek . With feeble words their love for Thee to speak; Prepare their hearts by Thy celestial tire To make the reparation they desire. May few forget, throughout this hap.oy day, . With longing hearts the prayer oft to say "O Sweetest Heart of Jesus! I implore The grace to love Thee daily more and more." |
