MissesLillian Gra-e and Grace De-laney, De-laney, of St. Paul, were the guests of Mrs. Joseph Gibbons, of 1923 Opden street, last week on their way home from the Portland fair. Mrs. Gibbons pave a luncheon at her home in honor of the young ladies. After a delightful delight-ful drive around our city they expressed ex-pressed themselves as greatly pleased with Denver. . , Friends of Miss Jennie Gillis will be i erievi d to hear that she is confined I to her bed with nervous prostration. Mr. John Motley of Harmon is slowly recovering from the results of a runaway accident. Charlie Hayden, who was reported lat week as having been injured by an automobile, is getting along nicely. His little sister. May. aged 6. is now-laid now-laid up with a broken arm, the result of Pliding down the banister at her home. Miss Mignon Langan is spending a few weeks at Fall Meadow, the guest :f Miss Mamie Schmidt. Misses Agnes and Mary Flynn left Sunday for an outing at Idaho Springs. f Mrs. M. J. Ryan and family have moved to Forty-first and Arlington, snd are welcome additions to the Holy Family parish. Mr. Charles Hagus, who has been studying for the last year at Bastogne, Belgium, writes that he has just completed com-pleted his year's course at the seminary semin-ary there and leaves now for a few t weeks' vacation in Germany, after which he will take up his studies at the American college in Louvain. Or, last Wednesday Rev. Father Per-poni, Per-poni, S. J.. of Trinidad, and Rev. Father Montenrelli. S. J.. of Del Norte, paid a very pleasant visit at the ca-thedraJ. ca-thedraJ. 4-- Father Donovan has -spent the last two weeks at Middle Park studying the advisability of starting a new mission in that part of the .slate. The mission I would include Middle Park, North Park and Steamboat Springs. fn last Thurt-day, 8:15 mass was said by Father Phillips as a month's mind for Mrs. J. A. Fisher. During the absence of Father OBrien, pastor of St. John the Evangelist church in Harmon, the church is beinf presided over by the Redemptionists priests of St. Joseph s church. Father O'Brien left two weeks ago on an extended ex-tended -trip through Ireland. f A very enjoyable lawn social was given at the home of Mrs. Collins. Boulevard Bou-levard F and College avenue, for the benefit of the Holy Family church. A neat little sum was realized for the church and everybody had a good time. Mr. Vincent Moran. the son of Mrs.. M. J. Moran. formerly of this city but now of S;.-n Francisco. Cal., met with a painful accident last Friday by falling fall-ing from a building where be Avas at work. The extent of his injuries had not been ascertained when news was sent. Mr. and Mrs. P. K. Ryan of 457S Xa- vier street were surprised by about, forty or fifty of their friends Saturday Satur-day evening and a delightful surprise it certainly proved to be. Music ar.d games served to pass away the lime and as they departed for their homos everybody expressed themselves as having had a truly delightful time. . 4 Miss Lees is spending a delightful summer at Portland, Me. school reopens . September 11th, and new faces will bev seen among the I teachers. One familiar face will be missing, as Sister Mary Carlos' health will not permit her to take her old place as sister superior. She will be greatly missed by all the oupils and parents, as her kind disposition made her beloved by all. It is rumored that j I one of the old teachers will take her 1 place. . |
