Deceased had been a sufferer i with consumption for over a year. Mother Clara had shown great executive ability in managing the affairs af-fairs of ;t great order of 3,000 sisters, j and her death is greatly mourned. De-I De-I ceased was a protege of the late Moth-j Moth-j er Caroline, whom she succeeded as I commissary general. A'.! day Sunday and Monday the body lay in state in the mortuary chapel. Sisters of Charity, Dominican and Franciscan Sisters, members of the various sisterhoods in the hospitals of the city, were among the hundreds of people who called at the convent to view the remains and to say a prayer for the dead. Mother Clara was laid to rest in the cemetery at Elm Grove, beside her predecessor. Mother . Caroline. Impressive Im-pressive funeral services were held. Bishop Schwebach of La Crosse celebrated cele-brated the Requiem Mass, and Bishop Schinner of Superior officiated at the grave. Bishop Fox of Green Bay and Bishop Trobec of St. Cloud were also present. |
