Qiiigley, vice president and general manager of the Studebaker Bros, company com-pany of ytah, as general agent for Utah and southern Idaho-of the Equitable Equit-able Life Assurance Society of the United States. The appointment of Mr. Quigiey has been an open secret since the visit -here of Paul Morton, president of the Equitable, some weeks ago. At that time Mr.' Morton told Mr. Quigiey that the Equitable, which has been out of the Utah field for some timev was desirous of resuming business busi-ness "here and that he could have the appointment as general agent. Mr. Quigiey agreed to accept the place, but formalities had to be gone through with," and the definite announcement an-nouncement could not be made until yesterday. Those who know Mr. Quigiey Quig-iey say that the combination between him and the Equitable will certainly be an irresistible one. There is no better bet-ter known or more public spirited bus-1 iness man in'Salt Lake City. He came here about sixteen years ago and took charge of the Studebaker business. Since that time Mr. Quigiey has built it up, doubling and trebling them again, until today the Studebaker company has no more important branch house. Nor will Mr. Quigiey relinquish the business of the Studebakers. He will handle both that and the Equitable work. The combination will be a large undertaking, but he is a man accustomed accus-tomed to large undertakings. That the j Equitable will quickly assume a commanding com-manding position in the field is believed be-lieved by all acquainted with Mr. Quigiey. The Equitable, according to Mr. Quiglcy's friends, is entitled to congratulations on securing his services. |
