Show Sacred Heart Academy. Elements of anxiety and interest combined to form solids of enjoyment last Tuesday morning, when the second seniors, the chemists of the house, entertained en-tertained appreciative on-lopkers by experimenting ex-perimenting with acids, salts, etc., and showing that their text-book knowledge was practical. Laboratory work these young misses find very fascinating. Students in the fifth, third and. sec-' ond year French classes passed a very-creditable very-creditable examination last Tuesday'. Should they be so fortunate as to secure se-cure a trip to France, they will at least be able to make themselves understood in the polished tongue of that cultured land. Spelling, neither deformed nor reformed. re-formed. -as'the test in the second preparatory pre-paratory grade last week, and from a list of three hundred words; not one was missed by the following little people: peo-ple: B. Devota. R. Ragan, M. Sheridan Sheri-dan and R. McKinnon. A welcome visitor at Sacred Heart last Sunday was Mrs. Belle Radden Green, whose devotion to her old home ws manifest in the enthusiasm with which she noted every', change in the academy and pointed it out to her husband, hus-band, who accompanied her. Though the improvements were undenlably many, she lingered most lovingly on the old scenes. The Spacious library at Sacred Heart, always one of the most admired rooms in the building, has been rendered yet more attractive by very artistic wall and ceiling decoration. Well filled cases line the walls, in which may be found valuable works in all departments of literature. The reference library of the academy is prpno.unced one of the most cr.mplete in the state. The S. H. A. Alumnae society members mem-bers are busy planning a good reception to mark the entrance into the society of the class of 08. the largest that has ever left the academy. The date of the reception is June 18. The old. yet ever attractive circus parade, was enjoyed by Sacred Heart pupils. Some of the dignified graduates gradu-ates were absent, but the enthusiasm of the minims compensated for the deficiency. de-ficiency.
