Show ELY, NEV. ( r ' Dr. F. F. Owen, physician for the Knights of Columbus of this district, will arrive here from Cherry creek tomorrow to-morrow night for the purpose of examining ex-amining a large number of applicants for initiation into the new lodge to be formed in Ely in the near future. The work of examining applicants for admission ad-mission into the order will occupy tlv; attention of Dr. Owens Saturday night and all day Sunday, and on Monday he will go to McGill ,to give attention to applicants in that quarters. The matter of organizing a local lodge for Ely and McGill has been in progress for some time, and already-upward already-upward of fifty applications have been secured between the two places. It is very probable that nearly as many-more many-more names will be added to the roll before the organization will be formally-perfected formally-perfected and the lodge commence its career with a membership of which it can justly feel proud. After examining of the local applicants appli-cants for membership into the order by Dr. Owens, all data will be forwarded to the headquarters of the Knights of Columbus at New Haven, where the applications will be gone over " and passed upon. It will require about two weeks before return of the papers from New Haven so that the organizers of the new lodge anticipate that within three weeks the order will be perfected here. It is planned to celebrate the formal organization of the Ely lodge in an appropriate ap-propriate manner, and arrangements will be completed before that time for one of the most pretentious social gatherings gath-erings in the historyof the camp. There will be present personages of note from outside points who will confer the initiatory in-itiatory on the large number of successful success-ful applicants. White Pine News, May 16.
