Show I 4 v - ALAN L. LOVEY. I OBITUARY. ( i Lovey. Alan L. Lovey, who died last Monday, Mon-day, has been known and loved by hundreds of Salt Lake friends for nearly near-ly ten years, and his aequaintano'e is general throughout the west. Ten years ago Mr. Lovey came from San Francisco to Salt Lake City, and has during the major portion of ths time since then been the artist of the Salt Lake Herald, much of his work achieving a national reputation. During Dur-ing 1905 he spent several months in Butte on the staff of the Miner. Mr. Lovey was married in October, 1903, to Miss Roberta Ruth of this city. They have one child, aged about 9 months old. His mother and brother, Edward, are also residents of Salt Lake. Mr. Lovey has for several years been pi eminently in the public eye. He was a delegate to the National Democratic convention at St. Louis in 1904, and was a candidate on the Democratic ticket for the Utah state legislature last year. The funeral wa held from St. Paul's church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon under the auspices of "the Elks' lodge and the Salt Lake Press club. Following the services at the church the remains were taken to Mt Olivet, where the Eiks' burial ceremony was read. The body was placed temporarily temporari-ly in a vault. The pallbearers were Lester D". Freed. A. J. Davis and C. S. Pulver, representing- the Elks' club, and Charles Whittle, George Carpeijter and A. N. McKay, representing- the Press club. The floral offerings wore exquisite. |
