Show !G0V. CLARK ORDERS BLACKOUT IN FRANKLIN COUNTY WEDNESDAY- Air Raid and Fire Wardens, Auxiliary Police Announced By Mel Reeve.. Civilian Defense Council Chairman; Requests Full Cooperation Franklin county will hold its first practice blackout next Wednesday Wednes-day night, February 4, it was announced today by Mel Reeves, chairman chair-man of the local Civilian Defense Council. "By the order of Gov. Chase A. Clark," Reeves stated, the entire county is requested to cooperate in an entire blackout of homes, stores, meeting places and othei buildings and all vehicles." Time of the blackout will be designated des-ignated by one long blast of the Sego Milk company whistle. The all clear signal will be designated by two short blasts of the whistle. An alert signal of six short blasts will be given ten minutes previous to the blackout warning. All lights in buildings should be extinguished unless windows are blacked out. It is suggested thai one room in each home should be prepared for a blackout room. Windows Win-dows can be draped or blotted out by cardboard or some other mater-i mater-i ial to prevent light showing from the outside. All vehicles, at the blackout signal, sig-nal, should be stopped at the side of the road and lights extinguished. They should remain parked, with lights extinguished, until- the all clear signal is given. Specific blackout instructions will be given over PocatellQ radio station KSEI next Monday, Tuesday Tues-day and Wednesaay.
