Show DEATH CALLS LOCAL PIONEER WOMAN; FUNERAL THURSDAY Death tliinnod the ranks of Plosion pioneers this week with the passing of Mary Elizabeth Hansen Han-sen Johnson, a resident of this community since 1891, on Monday, March 24. Funeral services were conducted Thursday from the Second Sec-ond ward chapel. Mrs. Johnson was born January 1.3, 1S74, at Hyde Park. Utah, a daughter of Hans Peter Hansen and folia Marie Thompson. She was l.mrried to Lorenzo Johnson in the Logan Temple on November 25 JsOl. They moved to Preston at that time, residing here since. Her husband preceded her in death in April, 191)7. ' She was active iv Relief Society work all hei" married life, and two of her sons and' a daughter have served in the LDS miss.on flol.'s. Surviving are five sons and six daughters, Mary C. Corbrid",e sr.ul .'entile I-. Peterson of Preston; Elna Briscoe of Po'cate.lj; V-rsil ol Terielon, Ida.; Julia J. Hobbs of Franklin; Letba J. Burbank or Richmond, Utah; Samuel H. of Smithfield; Willis H. of Preston; Lorin H. of Rexburg; Blanche J. Atkinson and J. Wendell of Preston. Pres-ton. Also a sister, Celia Win-ward Win-ward of Whitney, her stepmother Inger Hansen, and the following half- brothers and sisters: Peter Hansen, Clara Hollingsworth, Amy Coburn of Preston, Lionel Hansen of Magna, Olive Maughan, Ithaca, Now York; Laura Merrill of Smith-field; Smith-field; Lilly Spackman, Trenton; and Dora Briscoe, Pocatello. o o |
