Show DHLIMHANS PLAN TO ATTEND CONVENTION The Theta Nu Chapter of the Delphian Society met in regular meeting Monday afternoon. Mrs. G. C. Kilgore, president, presided at the short business session dining which it was decided that the chapter chap-ter would attend the Delphian convention con-vention in Pocatello April IS. The program leader for the afternoon, Mrs. G. W. States, then presented the program for discussion. The following topics were given; British Imperialism of the Post-War Post-War Model, Mrs. Nowlin Hale; Rifts in Imperial Unity; India to 1927, Mrs. Carl Clark; The lnd.au Problem and the Simon Report, Mrs. C. L. Jenkins; Egyptian Complications, Com-plications, Mrs. Larry Robinson; Social Reforms and War Debts, Mrs. G. C. Kilgore; Naval Rivalries and the World: Wide Depression, Mrs. Edwin Crockett; ' Present Day Problems and Prospects, Mrs. Harold Har-old Hawkes. Contrasts and parallels were given giv-en by; Mrs.' Virgil Rorabaugh Mr.i. George Egbert Mrs. Foss, Mrs. Kilgore Kil-gore and Mrs. Hale. Mrs. Egbert gave an interesting summary of the year's study. The chapter will start their new year of study of "Creative Tinkers" Tink-ers" at the next meeting. Mrs. Larry Robinson, newly elected president, pres-ident, appointed the following committees. com-mittees. Current Events committee, commit-tee, Mrs. G. C. Kilgore, chairman, Mrs. Thomas Boyle, Mrs. Crockett and Mrs. States; Word-Drill committee, com-mittee, Miss Mabel Jones, chairman, chair-man, Mrs. Carl Clark and Mrs. T. Smith Allen; Critic, Mrs. Farrell N. Beckstead and Reporter, Mrs. Jenkins. Jen-kins. VARIETY CLUB MEETS AT DURSTELLERS Thursday evening, Mrs. John Dursteller and Mrs. Cecil Foster entertained the Variety club at the Durslellei home in Whitney. Spilsbury. presented pre-sented two violin solos. A vocal trio, Mrs. W. II. Simmons, Mrs. Stephen Lundquist and Mrs. Spilsbury Spils-bury sang two numbers. Ai-tliur Ai-tliur Dursteller winner score honors. hon-ors. FINE ARTS CLUB HEARS BOOK REVIEW Members and guests of the Fine Arts club were entertained at the home of Mrs. Lucy C. Taunar Monday Mon-day evening. The rooms in which the guests weie seated were charmmgly dec-crated dec-crated with bouquets oi spring flowers. Mrs. Helen T. Beckstead cave an interesting review of the book "Oliver "Oli-ver Wiswell" by Kenneth Roberts. Musical numbers were presented by Miss Radia Morrison, Miss Vauna Barton and Miss Donna Mockli as a trio and Miss Barton who gave a violin solo. She was accompanied at, the piano by Miss Dorothy Tanner. Mrs. Delia J. Campbell assisted the hostess in serving light refreshments refresh-ments to the 50 members and guests. BPW PLANS ANNUAL PARTY APRIL 7 All persons interested in attending attend-ing the annual card party of the Business and Professional Women's club to be held in the reception rooms of the county courthouse are requested to make their reserve Hons early. Proceeds from the party will be used to defray the. expense of the new electric clock given to the city by the club and now situated on the corner of Slate and Oneida streets. All types of card games will be played and two attractive gifts to be given away will be on display. Reservations may be made with any B.P.W. member or by calling Mrs. Dorothy Kendrick at 337. |
