Show SILVER AND GOLD. A survey of expert opinion regard-t regard-t ing the present state of the American Ameri-can currency reveals an interesting fact. Most qualified observers believe I that a start has been made in the right direction. They also believe that much remains to be done. A great many hold to the position that the next major step should be the establishment estab-lishment of a fixed permanent ratio between the values of gold and silver. The president now has the power to fix such a relationship. There are obvious reasons why he does not do it hastily and without sufficient consideration con-sideration of what may be expected to result. But, if a legion of economists econo-mists are correct, it will eventually ; be found to be essential to the progress pro-gress of recovery and the regaining j of lost trade. |
