Show Tantalizing Driver Causes Car Wreck Phil Nielson, 17, of Rodmond, as well as two Ccnterfield boys, figured in an auto mishap early Saturday morning on the highway in front of the Chas. E. Embley home, and that, the riders escap.-d so luckily was ju-t one of those miracles. The Ford touring tour-ing car, after crashing with a cop;ng at the end of the ditch on the crossing, cross-ing, crumbled and turned over twice., alighting on the four wheels. In making mak-ing the two turns the top of the car was crushed and several parts broken and otherwise jammed. The three riders were thrown from the car and all escaped with few scratches and bruises. According to Ni'dson, his car was standing in front of the Roy Tuft home in Centerfield. Nielson was alone and was waiting for his partner, Jean Heath, also of Redmond, who was in the Tuft home. Two Center-field Center-field boys, in passing the Nielson car, asked the driver to take them to Gunnison. Reluctantly Nielson gave in to the demand and started northward. north-ward. A blanket, according to Nielson, Niel-son, had been placed over the. windshield wind-shield to keep the cold winds from swooping through the auto.
