There are still 400 head to be allocated to the lesser goat counties of the state, states William Peterson, state director. The purchases which have already begun are confined to females one year old and over. The price to be paid is $1.40 per head. The goats must be pelted and the pelts cured and delivered to the county FSRC agent. Those goats fit for food will be processed pro-cessed in local plants, with no out-of-state shipments. "It is hoped that this purchase will eliminate the old female goats, and that this number will relieve the goat situation in the state," Director Peterson Pe-terson said. |
