Show local Lions CEub Holds Annual Fete The annual "Ladies' Night" banquet, ban-quet, given Wednesday evening at seven-thirty by the members of the Gunnison Lions club at the Wistaria, proved one of the real social events of early fall. With a long table, artistically ar-tistically decorated with clusters of fall flowers, and with a group of thirty-seven around the festal board, the scene was beautiful and the spirit of happiness predominated. The guests enjoyed a real turkey dinner and with all the fixins' it was so good that many of the members, so fond of the king bird, were on the verge of calling for aid. With the banquet well started an interesting and appropriate program was given during the feast. Among the numbers was a violin trio, in which appeared Misses Ida Edwards, Beth Bardsley and Pauline Michael-sen. Michael-sen. Mrs. Forrest Pritchett acted as accompanist. A vocal solo by Ralph Britsch and readings by Miss Betty i Lou Anderson were all well received! and elicited applause from the banqueters. ban-queters. When the banquet had been finish-ed finish-ed the Lions and their wives and sweethearts went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Andersen, where pro-g pro-g res-sire bridge and other amusements were enjoyed until a late hour. |
