Show False Rumors Aired In Cattle Program $ ; In the cattle purchasing program it seems that certain areas of the state have been supplied with misinformation, mis-information, according to William Peterson, director extension service. Reports come to the state office that people have been advised to hold their cattle because the federal government gov-ernment is going to make a distribution distri-bution of feed. Such information is not founded on any facts known to the state office. Data gathered indicates that nearly near-ly 200 thousand tons of hay in ex- 4 cess of that which is available in the state, is needed to feed the cattle through a normal winter. It is con-cedel con-cedel that this hay is not available and more cattle will be saved by disposing dis-posing of sufficient numbers so the balance might be fed, than if an attempt at-tempt is made to carry the entire herd through the winter. Information from the federal government gov-ernment is that there will be but one cattle purchasing program. This program pro-gram will close by the end of December. De-cember. There will positively be no gratituous distribution of feed. Every cattle owner should make a careful inventory of his feed and correlate cor-relate with the stock to be fed. He should dispose of his cattle under this program in sufficient numbers so the balance kept may be fed through the winter. It is advised that the best animals be kept as a foundation foun-dation herd for the future. It is hoped that this cattle purchase pur-chase will be definitely understood and that any suggest'on that there is going to be any feed distribution is merely rropaganda, and that there will not be another federal cattle purchasing- program. All who are compelled to sell cattle are advised to act quickly that this purchasing program may be cleared up as soon as possible. |
