Show LOCAL ITEMS I OF INTEREST Mrs. Howard Norman left for Uplands, Up-lands, Calif., the middle of last week for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. P. C. Norman. She was called there on account ac-count of the illness of Mrs. Norman. Mr. and. Mrs. Elmer "Tuggle" Nielson and the Nielson children, former for-mer well known residents of Gunnison, Gunni-son, but now of Richfield, spent Sunday Sun-day here as guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. II. Cribble, parents of Mrs. Niel-son. Niel-son. The Misses Grace and Marjorie Reck of Centerfield, returned Sunday after a week's vacation trip. They visited with a sister at Kaysville, and while in Salt Lake attended the University Uni-versity of Utah graduating exercises and the M. I. A. convention. - A. ,1. Crosier, chairman of the working committee for the North Sevier Se-vier district in the drouth control, wai in Gunnison Monday conferring with Ira Overfelt relative to irrigation irriga-tion waters that concern south Sanpete San-pete farmers. Miss Irene Allmcndinger, a student at the Agricultural college at Logan the past school year, returned home Saturday. She was accompanied from Salt Lake by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Allmendinger, and the party enjoyed the trip down in one of the newest designs in automobiles, an Air-flow Chrysler, purchased by Mr. Allmendinger while on the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Spresser of Huntington, West Virginia, came in from the east last week-end and are gue.'-ts of Miss LaVyrl Larson. Tuesday Tues-day the visitors, with Miss Larson and Jule Duggins, spent the day at Bryce canyon. Ira Overfelt, cashier for the Gunnison Gun-nison Valley bank, accompanied by Mrs. Overfelt, Miss Helen Overfelt and Eugene Overfelt, spent several clays in Salt Lake last week. C. H. Childs motored to Delta Monday, Mon-day, where he was in confernece with officers of the irrigation companies relative to water conditions. Marshall Blair of Long Beach, Calif.,- is in the city and will be a guest of Russell Anderson, manager of the Casino theatre, for two weeks. Mr. Blair was formerly employed by Mr. Anderson while the latter was in the picture business at Long Beach and Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. M. Pruden of Elko, Nev., bride and groom of last week, spent Thursday as the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mcln-tyre. Mcln-tyre. Mr. and Mrs. Pruden are intimate inti-mate friends of the Mclntyres. |
